What Do You Really Mean When You Say, "I AM FINE"

Do you know that “I am fine” is the most told lie in the English language? It is usually used when someone is, in fact, not fine but they say “I am fine” because they don’t want to burden others and it’s easier to explain than what’s wrong, would you agree?

F.I.N.E is said to stand for “Feeling Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional”, and can also be “Feeling I’m Nothing to Everyone” or “Feeling Inadequate, Needing Encouragement”. Whatever your definition of FINE may be most of us would just lie and say “I am FINE”, because it’s an easy way out.

Then why do we say “I am fine” when clearly, we’re not:

  • Not sure of what you really feel
  • Pretending to be okay
  • To avoid conflicts
  • Scared to tell what you're really feeling

Only those who identify with these feelings can truly understand the agony behind the words “I am fine.”

The next time someone asks how you are, think about the response you’re already anticipating. What if we didn’t settle for “fine”? What if we stop, take a moment, and answer with true sincerity how I’m doing? Or better yet, tell them how you’re feeling. We could all benefit from slowing down and honestly evaluating how we are doing.

Your Infinite Canvas: Painting a Future Where Anything Is Possible with Ada Dindi

The secret?

It's never too late to change, to heal, to start anew. If you're someone grappling with the weight of childhood wounds, feeling trapped in shame or haunted by bullying, and you believe there's no chance to break free—let me tell you, you're wrong.

Today, Ada, my guest, will guide you through the realms of what's possible—mentally, physically, emotionally. She bares her soul, recounting a life where she was told she looked like a boy, that she'd never make it, that she didn’t have the face for the camera.

Surprisingly, she considers bullying the best thing that happened, the force that propelled her into the confident woman she is today, inspiring others after going viral on TikTok.

Transforming and healing is tough, but to start, we must confront and honestly admit there's a problem. So, what are you struggling with?

Acknowledge it. Own it. Accept it.

When we're lost, we let others define us. Know who you are. Know your worth. All you need, you already have it.

Ada found her strength in solitude, listening to her own words of empowerment as words we think and say are so crucial for our evolution. Regardless of who we are, we all have the power to rise above it. Your story is yours to shape, just like Ada's. So, know who you are and embrace the journey of transformation—it's never too late.
