What Do You Really Mean When You Say, "I AM FINE"

Do you know that “I am fine” is the most told lie in the English language? It is usually used when someone is, in fact, not fine but they say “I am fine” because they don’t want to burden others and it’s easier to explain than what’s wrong, would you agree?

F.I.N.E is said to stand for “Feeling Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional”, and can also be “Feeling I’m Nothing to Everyone” or “Feeling Inadequate, Needing Encouragement”. Whatever your definition of FINE may be most of us would just lie and say “I am FINE”, because it’s an easy way out.

Then why do we say “I am fine” when clearly, we’re not:

  • Not sure of what you really feel
  • Pretending to be okay
  • To avoid conflicts
  • Scared to tell what you're really feeling

Only those who identify with these feelings can truly understand the agony behind the words “I am fine.”

The next time someone asks how you are, think about the response you’re already anticipating. What if we didn’t settle for “fine”? What if we stop, take a moment, and answer with true sincerity how I’m doing? Or better yet, tell them how you’re feeling. We could all benefit from slowing down and honestly evaluating how we are doing.

Healing Attachment Anxiety: The Journey to a Confident, Self-Loving, Secure You and the T.E.M.P.O Cycle with Trevor Hanson – Part 1

What if your fear of losing love is the very thing keeping you from feeling secure in it?

On The Billy Boss Show, I sit down with Secure Attachment Coach Trevor Hanson to explore the hidden patterns of attachment anxiety and what it really takes to rebuild confidence, self-trust, and emotional safety from the inside out.

Trevor opens up about his personal journey from self-abandonment and overgiving to discovering the science and self-awareness behind secure attachment. Together, we unpack how attachment anxiety can quietly shape your relationships, mindset, and sense of worth and how awareness is only the beginning of the healing journey.

You’ll discover Trevor’s game-changing framework, The T.E.M.P.O. Cycle, a practical method to understand and heal emotional patterns before they spiral.

T.E.M.P.O. stands for:
T Trigger – what activates your fear or insecurity
E Emotions – the wave of anxiety, shame, or sadness that follows
M Meaning – the story you tell yourself (“I’m not enough,” “They’ll leave me”)
P Protection – the coping behaviour that takes over (over-apologising, overthinking, withdrawing)
O Outcome – the repeating cycle that keeps you stuck

By learning to identify your T.E.M.P.O. in real time, you’ll gain the awareness and tools to interrupt old cycles and create new patterns based on self-worth and emotional safety. We also talk about why awareness alone isn’t enough, you need compassion, consistency, and a supportive environment to truly rewire how you show up in love and life.

If you’ve ever struggled with anxious thoughts, low self-worth, or the fear of rejection, this episode will help you:

● Recognise the emotional patterns that keep you stuck

● Stop self-abandonment and start setting healthy boundaries

● Replace overthinking with self-trust

● Build confidence from the inside out

Beyond relationships, this episode dives into the science and psychology of healing. Trevor and I explore how emotional regulation, secure-attachment habits, and subconscious-mind work can rewire your nervous system for peace, safety, and confidence. You’ll learn how neuroscience-based practices and emotional awareness can help you transform fear into empowerment and step into the secure, grounded version of you that attracts love effortlessly.

Tune into this episode and discover how to heal attachment anxiety, build secure love, and step into the confident, grounded version of you that’s been waiting all along.
